Rosalie N. Had Gastric Bypass Surgery with Dr. Jeremy Korman
In the summer of 2008 I went on a trip. When I got on the plane, I was very embarrassed, because I had to ask for an extra seat-belt and I just said that this is not the way I want to live for the rest of my life.
Being overweight affected me in a few ways, but in the end for me personally, I feel like it was a hit to my self-esteem that actually made me draw the line. I had been in pain for many years because of the extra weight that was messing with my joints, and I also had to take medication for high blood pressure for a very long time, all because I did not take the time to understand the relations between all these conditions and the solutions that were there for me. I had the surgery and I am now the person that is able to actually do that which before I could only dream of doing. Also, you shouldn’t think that it is improper or useless to have this kind of surgery at a certain age. Look at me, I am retired and I will stand by my rationale that as long as you’re still breathing, it is never too late to make positive changes for a healthier way of living.
