Sean Richardson Had Cervical Microdiscectomy with Dr. Robert Watkins IV

I had a herniated disc in the lower part of my neck and I went to the Marina Hospital Spine Center where I found out that Dr. Robert Watkins was going to be performing the surgery. It was over faster than I thought it would be and then it was up to me to follow the rehabilitation plans.

You sort of sign up for pain when you decide to do what I do. It’s part of it, we all get it but sometimes issues appear that you can’t just grit your teeth and hope they are gone by the next day. You do that and then you realize that tomorrow turns into days and weeks and that’s not a good thing for anybody. A herniated disc in my neck was causing me a lot of pain so I had to leave the football field for a bit to figure out a solution.

Dr. Robert Watkins at Marina Hospital Spine Center was the one that helped me. He had to perform surgery to fuse the C5 and C6 vertebrae in my neck. The operation went smoothly and I was very pleased with the results. I was excited to get back to doing what I loved in top form.
