John Booty Had Lumbar Microdiscectomy with Dr. Robert Watkins IV

They go back to when I was in high school, my back problems, I'm glad to have put them behind. I was glad to have met Dr. Robert Watkins. He immediately assessed the situation and came up with a game plan. I was ready to get over that part of my life.

I had surgery to repair a bulging disc in my back. I have struggled with back problems since high school and I was sidelined by spasms as I started practice one time. I underwent a procedure called a microscopic discectomy. Coach said it went really well. I had to be out of action for about 12 weeks, but I was ready to train afterward. I decided to have the surgery after meeting with Dr. Robert Watkins.

Dr. Watkins felt that having surgery was the best option at this point, so we didn’t want to wait any longer. We have a great team and I wish I could’ve been out there practicing with them, but I had to focus on getting better and returning to the field in the best shape.
