Jeff Buckey Had Lumbar Discectomy with Dr. Robert Watkins IV

Dr. Watkins operated on a herniated disc on my lower back. Something did not feel right for a while and when I had the consultation at the Marina Spine Center I was pretty much told on the spot that I needed to have surgery.

I had a herniated disc in my lower back that was causing me a lot of trouble. I went to the Marina Spine Center to take care of it because I knew about Dr. Watkins and about how he had worked with other pro athletes. I wanted someone who could do the job right and he had a great reputation preceding him.

The operation was a success. Fortunately, there were no complications and I could start rehab right away. Prior to the surgery, I had a conversation with Dr. Watkins to figure out how much time I was going to be benched and he said that if I wanted a full recovery than it could be up to three months. That’s alright with me as long as I get this out of the way. I’m excited to be able to play in top form again.
