What to expect from a chemical peeling?

A chemical peeling consists of a deep facial cleanse, followed by the application of a thin layer of peeling solution.

A chemical peeling means that initially the dermatologist will cleanse your skin very well and will remove all the impurities, after which he/she will apply a thin layer of a peeling solution.

The general chemical solutions used for peeling procedures are salicylic acid or Phenol. The acid is used on small portions of your skin to create a small controlled wound made to enhance the regeneration of new skin tissue. It depends on the type of chemical used, but often the reaction that occurs right after the procedure is similar to a sunburn.

The process of peeling behaves as a scaling of the skin, which can be more intense or mild, according to what is the intended effect.
