Adam Graves Had Lumbar Discectomy with Dr.

To be able to continue to play, I had to have surgery. It’s no fun, but my options were limited and I wasn’t going to give up playing. I simply treated it like any other issue that needed fixing. I have to say, though, that I owe a lot to Dr. Watkins III.

I found out that I had a herniated disc in my lower back after a bad collision on the ice. After the injury, my lower back was sore and there was this sensation of numbness going down my left leg. I had a consultation with Dr. Robert Watkins III and he told me that the problem was with a herniated disc located in my lower back that due to my recent incident on the ice was pressing on a nerve in my spine and causing me all that pain.

Dr. Watkins informed me that it would be best if I had surgery to remove the disc since not doing so would soon interfere with my ability to keep playing. So I had the operation and it was all over sooner than I thought it would be. I applaud the staff at the Marina Spine Center. They were great.
