Ronald Kvitne, M.D.
Dr. Ronald Kvitne is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in sports medicine and the treatment of conditions affecting the knees, shoulders, and elbows. He earned his medical degree from the University of California in San Francisco and proceeded with a Surgical internship and residency at Northwestern University Medical Center in Chicago. After completing his residency, Dr. Ronald Kvitne continued with a Sports Medicine fellowship at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic. He is one of the Associate Clinical Professors of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Southern California and certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Ronald Kvitne is a regular contributor to medical education and research and in his 40 years of experience, he has authored 31 publications and 6 book chapters and has facilitated over 34 lectures.
The physician is a member of several prestigious medical societies, such as the American Medical Association, the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons. Being a qualified medical examiner and a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners, Dr. Ronald Kvitne also serves as the team physician of the world champion Los Angeles Kings and the Los Angeles Blades. He is also the Associate Orthopedic Consultant for the California Angels, the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Anaheim Ducks. Dr. Roland Kvitne has received the Patients' Choice Award for numerous years and he was designated a Super Doctor as well.
With decades of experience as an orthopedic surgeon and as an orthopedic medical expert witness, Dr. Ronald Kvitne's opinions are highly regarded and sought after for his testimony at deposition, arbitration, civil or federal trial. His vast experience and skills have earned him a great reputation among his patient population, which includes a long list of high-profile professional athletes and VIP celebrities. Dr. Ronald Kvitne also has a Bachelor of Science in Medicine, which he earned from the University of North Dakota in 1978. Before practicing in California, he had a medical license for Illinois and North Dakota and can also practice in Florida at the moment. In 2010, Dr. Ronald Kvitne was part of the team of the clinical trial known as "Web Based Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Registry", which was led by Dr. Larry Higgins.
