
Dr. Ronald S. Kvitne is a board certified orthopedic surgeon specialized in sports medicine and the treatment of knees, shoulders and elbows. Dr. Kvitne earned his medical doctorate at the University of California in San Francisco and proceeded with a surgical internship and residency at Northwestern University Medical Center in Chicago. After completing his residency, Dr. Kvitne continued with a sports medicine oriented Fellowship at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic. Dr. Kvitne. He is an Associate Clinical Professor, Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Southern California and certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Kvitne is a regular contributor to medical education and research, and in over 27 years of experience, he has authored 31 publications and 6 book chapters and has facilitated over 34 lectures. He is a member of a several prestigious medical societies, such as the American Medical Association, the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons. Being a qualified medical examiner and a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners, Dr. Kvitne also serves as the team physician of the world champion Los Angeles Kings and the Los Angeles Blades. He is also an Associate Orthopedic Consultant for the California Angels, Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Lakers and Anaheim Ducks. Dr. Kvitne has received in 2008, 2009, 2012 the Patients' Choice Award from PatientsChoice.org and he was designated a “Super Doctor” by SuperDoctors.com.
