
Robert Watkins III, M.D.
Dr. Robert Watkins III, a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon, is Co-Director of the Cedars-Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital Spine Clinic along with his son, Dr. Robert Watkins IV. In addition to specializing in advanced spine-surgery techniques in general, he also specializes in treating sports injuries and he has successfully treated many professional athletes. The surgeon has also treated numerous youth and amateur athletes. Along with his son, Dr. Robert Watkins III is a founding member of the North American Spine Society. He has written many books and articles on spine surgery, which establishes him as a leading authority in his specialty.
The surgeon and his son are the spinal consultants for USC athletic programs, the L.A. Dodgers, and other Los Angeles professional and collegiate sports teams. Dr. Robert Watkins III is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a founding member of the North American Spine Society, a prolific author of books and articles on spine surgery, and a world-renowned surgeon. He has over 50 years of professional experience and before practicing in California, he had a medical license for Tennessee. Over the years, he has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the Super Doctor award.
