Dr. Ralph A. Gambardella is a sports medicine surgeon who serves as Chairman and President of Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic. He earned his medical degree at the University of Southern California and subsequently performed a surgery internship at Tufts in Boston. Afterward, the physician returned to the University of Southern California for his orthopedic surgery residency and then became a sports medicine fellow at Kerlan-Jobe. Dr. Ralph A. Gambardella is a distinguished member of numerous professional organizations, such as the Association of Major League Team Physicians, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Subcommittee on Sports Medicine Evaluation, and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine Council of Delegates. He also serves as Orthopaedic Consultant to the famous LA Dodgers, Loyola Marymount University athletics, and USC athletics.

By virtue of his expertise, the physician is widely sought in the orthopedic industry as a medical advisor and he is a part of numerous advisory boards. In 2010, Los Angeles Magazine voted Dr. Ralph A. Gambardella as a Super Doctor. He is a frequent lecturer and participant at academic medical conferences and has a special interest in advancing cartilage repair techniques and practices. Dr. Ralph A. Gambardella has approximately 45 years of professional experience, which speaks volumes about his expertise and medical practice. In 2008, he was part of the medical team supervising the clinical trial known as Evaluation of the CR Plug (Allograft) for the Treatment of a Cartilage Injury in the Knee. Over the years, the orthopedic surgeon has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the America's Top Doctors, Castle Connolly, the Compassionate Doctor Recognition Award, and the Patient's Choice Award. Dr. Ralph A. Gambardella also has a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, which he earned from the Bowdoin College in 1973.
