Dr. Matthew H. Bui's pioneering work on advanced kidney cancer won him first and second prizes at the American Urological Association's Western Section and at national conferences, as well as the Society of Urologic Oncology's best scientific poster award in 2002. He continued his education after residency by completing a fellowship at UCLA, which was focused on laparoscopic, robotic, and minimally invasive urology. The physician is currently affiliated with Cedars-Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital as a board-certified urologist. Dr. Matthew H. Bui has approximately 20 years of professional experience. In addition to practicing medicine in California, he also has a medical license for Arizona. Over the years, the urologist has been the recipient of multiple awards, including CMS Meaningful Use Stage 1 Certification.

Dr. Matthew H. Bui grew up in Lancaster, Pennsylvania where he attended Franklin and Marshall College. He majored in Physics and graduated as valedictorian with Summa Cum Laude. In 1998, he attended the Yale School of Medicine in the Medical Scientists Training Program and earned both the M.D. and Ph.D. degrees. Subsequently, Dr. Bui did his urology residency at UCLA where he earned accolades for his scientific research in kidney cancer. Some of his specific medical interests are urologic oncology, robotic-assisted prostatectomy, laparoscopic nephrectomy, laparoscopic pyeloplasty, PVP "green-light" laser prostate surgery, endo-urology and kidney stone disease, nerve-sparing surgery for prostate and bladder cancer, and continent neobladder reconstructive surgery. His subspecialties are stone disease and surgical oncology.
