
Henry H. Chen, M.D., M.B.A.
Dr. Henry H. Chen is a board-certified otolaryngologist who specializes in every aspect of ear, nose, and throat conditions, as well as plastic and reconstructive surgery of the face, head, and neck. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Rice University and subsequently earned dual Medical Doctor and Medical Doctor Assistant degrees from Baylor College of Medicine and the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University. Dr. Henry H. Chen completed his residency training in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Colorado, where he also served as chief resident. Dr. Henry H. Chen was one of only 40 surgeons chosen nationwide yearly to complete a prestigious fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He completed his fellowship at Albany Medical Center and the New England Laser and Cosmetic Surgery Center in Albany, New York under the mentorship of Dr. Edwin F. Williams, III, a recent former president of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and an international leader in the field.
The surgeon also donates his time and expertise to humanitarian efforts abroad. Every year, Dr. Henry H. Chen makes a journey to Central America to perform reconstructive procedures for underserved populations in Guatemala. Cleft lip and palate surgery, removal of tumors of the head and neck, and reconstruction of traumatic facial injuries are just some of the procedures he performs for those in need. Before practicing medicine in California, the physician had a medical license for New York and Colorado. Dr. Henry H. Chen has approximately 15 years of professional experience and over the years, he has been the recipient of multiple awards, including the Gordon Award for Exceptional Customer Service and Patient Satisfaction, the CMS Meaningful Use Stage 1 Certification, and the Ben Shuster Memorial Award for Most Outstanding Research Paper in the field of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. In 2011, the surgeon was part of the medical team leading the clinical trial known as Volume Restoration of the Aging Midface With Sculptra Aesthetic, which was led by Edwin F. Williams, III, M.D. and sponsored by Williams Center Plastic Surgery Specialists.
