Dr. Daniel Schiffner is a Board Certified radiation oncologist with wide clinical experience in treating cancers of the breast, prostate, lung, gastrointestinal system, central nervous system, gynecologic system, covering the head and neck region also. Dr. Schiffner has become an expert of the most advanced technologies used in radiation oncology such as intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), high-dose-rate (HDR) brachytherapy, image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) and permanent seed prostate brachytherapy. He received his undergraduate education in chemistry, biology and genetics. He graduated from Duke University with Summa Cum Laude and Departmental Distinction. He attended the University of California Medical School in San Francisco where he received the Roy W. Howard Fellowship in Radiation Oncology. He enrolled in an internal medicine internship at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco and then completed his residency in radiation oncology at the University of California, Irvine.
