Guillen Received a Second Epidural to Ease Back Stiffness

The team is optimistic that Guillen will bounce back from his back issues with effective rehab during the off-season.

Detroit Tigers third baseman Carlos Guillen (back) is likely done for the remainder of the season. Guillen visited with Dr. Robert Watkins on September 17, who determined that the inflammation in Guillen's back was coming from a nerve root in his lower back. He will not need to undergo surgery, but he received a second epidural to ease back stiffness enough to let him begin the rehab process.
