Hiroki Kuroda’s bulging disk in his neck will sideline him for at least the division series.
Kuroda spent most of the first two months this season on the disabled list because of a strained side muscle. He returned to the DL in August after a line drive struck him on the head. Dodgers right-hander, who has been on the disabled list twice this season, has a bulging disk in his neck that will sideline him for at least the division series.
When Kuroda asked Dr. Robert Watkins Jr. whether he could pitch through the pain, he was told that doing so could worsen the injury to the point of requiring surgery. Kuroda said he didn't know when he would be able to pitch again.
