Will I feel pain after hemorrhoid excision?

It is not uncommon to feel pain following hemorrhoid excision. This symptom should not worry you.

Many patients experience pain after hemorrhoid excision. Your doctor will prescribe you painkillers to help you manage the pain. It’s important to take your medication according to the prescribed dosage and schedule. It is also possible to get antibiotics following the surgery.

Some patients experience bleeding when they start having bowel movements again. Don’t worry if this happens to you too.

In order to reduce the discomfort, it’s recommended to take sitz baths, use cushions while seated and ice packs if needed.
