When should an adult’s eyes be examined?

As the earliest intervention is the wisest, a regular check-up is recommended.

In cases where a difficulty in seeing correctly or clearly is noticed, an immediate check-up is required, however, on a casual basis, periodical check-ups are encouraged for ages 20 to 39 where a visit to an optometrist is desirable every two to five years. Between ages 40 to 65, a recommended check-up should occur anytime between one to two years and for the elderly over 65, when the visual acuity tends to become more stable, it is generally recommended a medical screening anytime between three to five years.
