When is cecectomy contraindicated?

Not all patients qualify for this type of surgery. Only a medical practitioner can tell you if you are an eligible patient for cecectomy after examining you.

A laparoscopy is an innovative approach in the field of minimally invasive colorectal surgery. A small camera is inserted through a concealed incision, allowing the doctor to see the working area better.

The results reduce the duration of hospital stay, minimize pain and trauma, and are aesthetically pleasing. Some patients might not be eligible for cecectomy because they cannot stand the effects of the anesthesia or the incision.

Cecectomy contraindications

To determine whether you are a good candidate for cecectomy, your doctor will need to:

  • know everything about your medical history
  • assess any current health problems you are facing

People with severe medical comorbidities may not be eligible for this type of surgery. A series of tests will be required to establish the available treatment options for you.
