What signs should I pay attention to after I am discharged?

Before you are discharged, we will make sure you are aware of the warning signs that should take you back to your doctor.

When you go home after a laminectomy, some complications that require a doctor’s attention might occur. Contact us if you have:

  • fever over 101°F
  • severe pain in the area of the surgery
  • swelling
  • wound drainage
  • gradually increasing back pain
  • chest pain
  • breathing difficulty
