What should I do before the prostatectomy intervention?
Your doctor will provide you with a complete list of all the aftercare recommendations you should follow after this intervention.
You should avoid certain medications like aspirin for at least seven days before the surgery. If you require medicines for chronic diseases, your doctor will tell you how to take them before the surgery.
Several tests will be required prior to the surgery: urinalysis, chest x-rays, EKG. You might be required to begin a liquid diet one day before the surgery and take specific medicines. On the day preceding the intervention, you should stop eating and drinking after midnight.
