What does the lower anterior resection aftercare imply?
You will be given a full set of aftercare recommendations before you leave the hospital.
Some of the precautions you have to follow refer to the activity you are allowed to perform after lower anterior resection. You should not engage in strenuous activities like lifting heavy objects.
Get plenty of rest to enhance your recovery. Walk every day but avoid climbing stairs too often during your first week after you’ve been discharged.
If you’re thinking about resuming your sexual activity, discuss with your doctor and see how soon it’s safe to do so. The same applies to driving.
