What are the possible risks of anterior hip surgery?

The risks associated with this procedure are generally the same risks that are also present in traditional hip replacement surgeries.

The risks involved in this procedure are common to most hip surgeries:

  • infection
  • nerve or blood vessel injury
  • risks associated with anesthesia
  • inequality of the legs' length
  • fracture or dislocation risks

It is also possible to feel numbness in the thigh right after the surgery. This sensation will normally subside after a couple of months.
