What activities are recommended after the nephroureterectomy surgery?

Your doctor will tell you what type of activities are recommended after this type of surgery.

First, it’s recommended to walk several times a day after your discharge. Normally, patients are able to walk as much as 6 times a day on level surfaces following this intervention. It is actually recommended to walk as often as you can after nephroureterectomy because sitting or lying for long periods might increase the chance of developing complications.

Driving is allowed after the surgery once your doctor says it is ok to resume it. You may also climb the stairs after this intervention. However, it is not recommended to lift heavy weights or engage in strenuous activities in the first 4 weeks after the surgery.
