Is it normal to feel pain after a tonsillectomy?

It is absolutely normal to feel a certain degree of pain following tonsillectomy.

The pain experienced after undergoing tonsillectomy varies from person to person. However, it is perfectly normal to feel some amount of pain following the procedure.

Over 85% of the people who have a tonsillectomy reported feeling mild or moderate pain, while only 15% experienced severe pain.

Nevertheless, the degree of pain depends on multiple factors, such as the age of the person, the surgical technique used and whether any complication arose following tonsillectomy.
