How should I prepare for a circumcision procedure?

Your doctor will tell you everything you know about the outcome of this intervention and how you should prepare for it.

Before the circumcision, you should talk to your doctor about all the medicines or supplements you’re currently taking because you might have to stop taking some of them due to the increased risk of bleeding and their potential interaction with anesthesia. Your doctor will tell you when you should stop eating or drinking before the surgery. Take a shower before the intervention, but don’t apply any lotion or deodorant afterward.

This procedure is performed on an outpatient basis, so you will go home the same day. You should make arrangements so that someone can drive you home because you will be operated under anesthesia and it’s not safe to drive afterward.
