How safe is myomectomy?
Myomectomy is typically considered a safe procedure. We take all the necessary precautions to make sure that our patients will not develop surgical-related complications.
In most cases, myomectomy is a safe procedure as complications are not usually reported. Statistically, the complication rate is 1.8 -25%.
If the surgery is performed laparoscopically, the risks are considerably decreased and the recovery is shorter. However, laparoscopic myomectomy is only possible in certain circumstances. If the fibroids are too large or too numerous, traditional surgery might be required.
