How long does it take to recover from adrenal gland surgery?

The recovery usually takes between 2 and 4 weeks, depending on the patient's condition.

After a laparoscopic adrenalectomy, patients may sometimes go home the day after the surgery. Most patients are able to achieve a full recovery within 2 to 4 weeks after their surgery.

For open adrenalectomy, the recovery process is more complicated and takes longer. Patients may need to stay in the hospital for several days up to 2 weeks and need to abstain from demanding physical activities for at least 4 weeks.
