How long does it take to recover after mitral valve repair?
The length of the recovery following a mitral valve repair is different for each patient.
After your intervention, we will closely monitor you and help you start your rehabilitation. Your doctor will be able to estimate how long your recovery will take based on your general health and your post-operative symptoms.
Typically, it takes around 4 to 8 weeks to recover after mitral valve surgery.
To achieve a fast recovery, it’s important to follow the doctor’s recommendations after you are discharged and to schedule follow-up appointments when necessary.
