How do I prepare for cervical foraminotomy?
Our medical staff will make sure you get all the necessary information that will help you be fully prepared for this surgery.
You will need to take some tests prior to undergoing cervical foraminotomy: CT scans or MRI, EKG, blood and urine tests, chest x-rays.
You will talk to your doctor about any ongoing medication. Some drugs might impair the outcome of the surgery or cause complications, so you will be required to stop taking them.
Before the procedure, you should avoid using any cosmetics in the area where the incision will be made.
Alcohol and tobacco should also be avoided before the surgery as they increase the risk of complications and impair the recovery.
