Valentine's Day Tips for Bariatric Patients' Partners
Today is Valentine’s Day! I don’t know if you feel the same way, but besides celebrating these moments, give us the chance to reflect.
I find myself reflecting on relationships and love, but not in a soft, romantic-movie way.
I ask myself if I truly behave right with my loved one.
I certainly hope that any roses I give to my partner today or any other day will never be an apology for something I did but a genuine celebration of the harmony between us.
The relationships with people we love are the foundation of our everyday life.
Today is a day of joy. But, with joy comes struggle as well. I can’t help but think of my patients, who fight for their health, who fight to get back on track when things go wrong, and I think I know what would be the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for them.
What our patients need most is a partner dedicated to supporting them in their efforts to get healthy. Our staff is proud of the support we give to patients, but we recognize that supporting a weight loss surgery patient is a full-time job and that the support of a loved one is unique. So this Valentine's Day, we thought of ways you can support each other on the quest to get and stay healthy.
What Can Healthy Couples Do on Valentine’s Day?
They can compliment their partners for the hard work they have done so far in losing weight, cook them a healthy dinner, listen to them, try and find out which is the right way to support them. It would be better if we tried to do these small acts of kindness for our loved ones more often, but time can be an issue in today's society. So, when we have a special occasion such as Valentine's day, we should go the extra mile to make them feel cared for and loved.
